Cleaning areas around the Chitwan National Park

TTemple Tiger Group of Companies has always been at the forefront of conservation and sustainable tourism in Nepal, and Green Jungle Resort has always been proud of its conservation efforts in Chitwan National Park. Around a decade ago, all the resorts inside the National Park were removed from the inside, including the Temple Tiger Jungle Lodge, following the government’s order.  And, that is when Green Jungle Lodge was given “Green” to its name and it was renamed Temple Tiger Green Jungle Resort. The Green on the name stands for all the practices we adhere to in the resort and it’s been carved into the core of the Green Jungle Resort and all the things we do. Recognizing our efforts, the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association – PATWA has adjudged Temple Tiger Jungle Resort is the BEST GREEN RESORT OF THE YEAR 2000 and we’ve never looked back since.

Each year Green Jungle Resort has been conducting various programs in the Chitwan National Park for the last decade. It has always been on the front line for conservation efforts, cleaning programs, sustainable tourism, empowering the local communities, to name a few. The COVID pandemic and the closure of the National Park meant that we were unable to go ahead with our yearly plans, but we are starting this year with a bang.

Green Jungle Resort and Venture Travels together and with the help of the Chitwan National Park authorities, we conducted a 1-day cleaning program last weekend. We were able to clean the area around the buffer zone and remove plastics and non-biodegradable items. The guests from Venture Travels also participated in the program, which was a success. We also planted around 30 different trees in the area around our resort on the first week of January, keeping up with the theme from last year where we planted around 300 trees around the resort, and we are just getting started. We still have huge plans for the year and we will be more than happy to include you if you would like to be part of it.
